I hate the new look, is there somewhere to change, at least to the way it was. The green is hard for these old eyes to read.

Hate is a strong word, but I would agree that it's much harder to read and thus navigate the site with the new color scheme. Different is good, but hard to read....not so much. Very Happy

I agree. Some color combinations are definitely no success. Just try to read the light green aganst the white background or the dark blue against the dark grey background. Simply impossible. And you don't have to be old to experience this problem! Also, on my 17 inch screen I continuously have to scroll horizontally to get the window in focus. Very annoying.

Hi - On my way to work but saw everyone's displeasure. I liked it but I need everyone to be happy. Hopefully this one will do until I get home from work. I liked this one as well. Please let me know what you think of it!

Thanks...Melanie

Compared to the previous design, this one looks a bit plain and cheap, but at least you can read everything without effort and I don't have to scroll anymore, which is some relieve! Just keep experimenting Melanie. We'll give you all the necessary feedback and I'm sure this will become the number 1 forum for all of us HDR fanatics!

I like this much better, sometimes plain and simple (not cheap) is the best way.

This generic screen is much easier to read than the black/green screen. I wouldn't mind seeing Melanie "spice" it up as long as it's easy to read and navigate the site. A cool/artistic site like this definitely needs its own identity/look in my opinion, so keep experimenting Melanie, I'm sure you'll find a great color combo (that is also viewer friendly) that will set this site apart from the others. Good luck... Smile

p.s. One other thing to keep in mind is the actual setup of the screen besides the colors. I noticed when posting some photos yesterday that I could only post up to about 500-600 pixels wide before the forum 'sqeezed' my photo to appear more narrow and box-like on the screen. For instance, if I posted a 800x600 photo, it would appear on screen as 600x600 (square) instead of 800x600 (landscape rectangle). Now, with this default board setup, I can post photos up to 1024 pixels wide with no 'squeezing' at all (ie. they now appear as a landscape should with no altering by the board limits). I think it would be nice to make sure that photos be allowed to be at least 800 pixels wide for our viewing pleasure, 1024 would be even better but may not be possible once you change from this default appearance....I know I like seeing the bigger photos, hope that's possible! Very Happy

I'm home from work and I'm going to search for something a little more interesting, yet easy to read. I would be most appreciative if, as I try different themes, you'd give me your honest feedback on how it looks. I'm going to create a suggestion box area and move this thread to there.

Thanks again everyone, for your honesty and patience while I still try and get everything worked out...

I like this one, much better. The buttons across the top don't all show up as buttons. Specifically "members flicker gallery" and "gallery"

Just wanted to let everyone know that I made a subtle change (and why). In the Creationist & Purist sub-categories, I highlighted the words 'creationist' & 'purist' in a slightly different font color. I was finding myself scrolling down and saying, "Is that the purist landscape or the creationist landscape category?" This way you can take a quick look and notice which category you're looking at.

Hope that helps (it helped me!).
