HDR & Infrared? Empty HDR & Infrared?

Hi everyone -

I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to combine the HDR process w/infrared shots? I have a converted IR camera (Rebel XT) that I love to use, but I haven't tried HDR with it as of yet. If anyone has attempted this, please share your results w/us. Thx!

You've got an IR camera, give it a whirl.

We will be anxiously awaiting the results.

Yeah, the only issue about doing it right now is that we're completely snow covered here. With the IR bouncing off of the snow, it makes for a very, uhm, white photo. Smile I'll have to wait until the snow melts before I can give it a whirl, I think. Maybe I'll try something indoors.

Hi,

Yes this is something I have tried, though I have not put that much effort into it.

Please discount the banding of light centre right, this was caused but light leakage on my IR filter, an issue that I have now fixed.

I have HDR'd other IR shots with differing amounts of success, there does seem lots of potential to me but I am waiting for the summer and the light to seriously work on HDR/IR. I expect some very good images though..

Sam Gray has been experimenting with this and the initial result is quite nice. Take a look at: IR on HDRcountry.com. It's a fascinating path and I think in the future it holds much promise.

On another topic. my site HDRcountry.com is asking for submissions. Give me the link to your HDR stuff and we're more than happy to take a look and maybe get your own gallery up for display - and promotion. You'll get name attribution, links to your sites, and anything else you can think of.

Check out the site. Have a look, and let me know what you think.
