Found my way here from DPReview. Been doing a lot of HDR in the last year - mostly subtle, but occasionally a bit over the top. I generally like in-your-face hdr, just haven't quite gotten it down yet. I shoot Canon 40D. I use Photoshop CS3, Lightroom 2, and Photomatix. Generally I find Photoshop HDR too flat, and Photomatix too harsh... so I frequently blend the two. I generate HDR from multiple RAW files, or from multiple processings of a single raw file, and I fidn taht both can generate nice tonemapped results.
