G9 and Noise Reduction
One of my digital cameras is a G9, but it's a bit noisy. I use the minimum ISO possible, but I guess a lot of it is attributable to the sensor size. I'd like to hear recommendations from other G shooters on how to best minimize or reduce the noise, what noise reduction software you use, and where in the workflow to best apply noise reduction. TIA, Bill

Re: G9 and Noise Reduction
I shoot everything in RAW with the G10 and then use Imagenomic Noiseware Professional in post processing to take care of noise, and it does a great job. I have also used Noise Ninja which works well also.
Re: G9 and Noise Reduction
I have a G9. I find that ISO 400 is the outer limit of usability because of noise. At or below that value I get usable / salvageable exposures. Beyond that, well, I just don't do that anymore.
I had hoped for more from the G9, as it is far more portable than a DSLR with various lenses, but beyond filling the niche of "a way to record images when I don't have a (better) camera" I'm just not using it.
I might look into the G10, but if the noise issue has not been addressed in some significant fashion, I'll pass. At some point I'll probably just write this off as an unsuccessful experiment and gift out the G9 to one of my bride's nieces and nephews.
