Just curious to see if I live close to anyone with a nikon!
Really learning to shoot correctly and would love some hands on training from an expert LOL
Anyway.... where does everyone live? ---yeah yeah, a house/apt, I get it !!

Re: Anyone on here from North Carolina?
I live in Lenoir, north of Hickory.
There is a good club in Hickory at the SALT Block, also have visited one in Charlotte.
Asheville has a nature photography club.
I shoot two Nikon D70/70s and am looking at how to get a D300.
I do HDR, also QTVR.
I am semipro, have a real job, make enough on photography to put it on the taxes, save receipts etc.
Where are you? What's a Weathernut? Ray?

Re: Anyone on here from North Carolina?
I looked at your website, very cool.
Are you familiar with the Ray's Weather community from Appalachian?
I am an amateur astronomer, astrophotographer (chemist, physicist, etc.)
You have a great website, lucky students. I have a 7 year old daughter, going on her second trip to SpaceCamp this summer in Alabama.
I use HDR techniques for my astrophotography, blending exposures. Definitely a learning process.

Re: Anyone on here from North Carolina?
well, a weathernut is simply what is states. someone who is nuts about weather! Growing up without having much exposure to severe weather, I soon realized the draw to it. I now work for a company (very limited mind you) that takes folks out storm chasing! (www.silverliningtours.com)
My whole goal in being able to take better pictures is to capture what awesome things I see on the road. I always get home to see the pictures I took and think... yeah, not bad, but nothing like what I recalled!!! I want to be able to share with others exactly what I have seen. HDR in a realistic type of shooting is pretty close to what I actually see. Thus, my goal in taking better pictures!
I hoppe that answers some of the questions out there..
I have not seen Ray's weather community ... I will do a little google searching to locate a site or something!

Hmmm. Sounds interesting. Maybe I'll check out that storm-chasing idea.
